As part of your assessment, you may be asked to write a short essay.

Some students dread the task of writing papers. However, there is no need to worry or wonder about how to write an essay.

Essay writing for the test will be easy if you keep in mind essay format and remember the different types of colleges essays you may be asked to write.

You will be allowed 30 minutes to write your essay papers. You will be given three English essay topics to choose from. The essay should be approximately 300 to 350 words.

It is useful to prepare an essay outline and essay notes in advance. Remember essay planning is very important in order to write a good essay paper!

There are different types of essays. The essay format may be one of the following:

1) Opinion essay: For this type of essay, you will be asked to agree or disagree with a statement. This essay format is sometimes called the argument essay or argumentative essay.

2) Discursive essays: Discursive essays are descriptive or informative essays.

3) Comparative essay: Compare and contrast essay topics often include comparing your country to the US.

4) Personal experience essay: Describe a personal experience you have had.

5) Hypothetical essay: "Hypothetical" means that you will have to imagine something, like being famous.

6) Cause and effect essay: Essay topics for these types of essays include smoking essays, health essays, or other controversial essay topics.

Note that essay topics do not include the narrative essay, illustration essay, politics essay, history essay, informative essay topics, or persuasive essay topics.

Your written essay level should be equivalent to a college essay. For the standard of college essays, you may also want to investigate how to write a college essay or writing term papers.
